Shinty Alive aims to bring up to the minute information about Scotland's great national sport to shinty, players, supporters and casual visitors by providing clubs and teams with a highly developed online platform. It is not intended to be a substitute for the Camanachd Association's sites or for websites already published by other national organisations or by shinty clubs themselves but to provide a detailed centralised portal with easy access to both detailed and general information.  At Shinty Alive, you can easily change back and forth between clubs, check out weather forecasts, get travelling directions and even find local services to make your match days more enjoyable. 

There are three main components of Shinty Alive -

• Standard club web pages with longer term information such as club news, history/background, travel directions, weather forecast, etc
  These pages are compiled by the clubs themselves.
  
  
• Club notices with virtually instant updating to provide more immediate information such as fixtures, cancellations, player profiles, training/team information, etc
  Again, these pages are posted and maintained by the clubs.
  
  
• World Alive Scotland Notices which are paid-for advertisements with information about food, drink and accommodation for travelling supporters and teams as well as being a marketplace for a wide range of sales, services, entertainment and wants from businesses and private individuals. World Alive Notices Scotland is also integrated with a number of other Scottish-based websites to give ever-increasing exposure to its advertisements.
